Instructions
2 Chains at the beginning of the rows/sections counts as a half treble crochet across the entire row, unless otherwise stated.
3 Chains at the beginning of the rows counts as a double crochet throughout the fabric.
The dress is worked in one piece from the bottom edge up to the armholes, then it is divided under the arms, and then the front and back are worked separately up.
The dress is worked in sections of different patterns of lace stitches. Solid double treble crochet (mpa) sections are worked between the lace sections.
You will be prompted to increase or decrease a number of stitches on the last row of each mpa section.
This is to make sure you have the correct number of stitches to start the next section of lace.
To decrease stitches, work 2 half treble crochets together (hdc2tog). To increase stitches work 2 half double crochet in the same stitch.
Fringe: Cut pieces of yarn 38 cm [38 cm] long. Taking 3 strands at a time, tie the fringes at each point along the bottom edge of the dress (as shown in the photo). Trim the fringes evenly.
Sew the button to the left front edge of the dress, centered in the half treble crochet section before dividing the piece into front and back. Fasten small button on the inside of the dress and the larger button on the outside. Sew through all layers.
Note: The smaller button helps keep the fabric from sagging.
button tie
Chain and as you work. Roll the chain into a spiral, forming a circle, and sew the edges together to secure. When the circle is the same size as the largest, attach it to the chain but do not sew the edges of the chain to the circle.
Make loose chain long enough around the largest button and go around the circle. Finish off.
