Instructions
Make 2 slippers. 40 Pc. Measure the length of your foot from heel to toe. Add or subtract pc as needed to fit length (no multiples in this pattern). Make sure they are 2 pc above your biggest toe for comfort.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd pc from hook and in each sc across (using back loop of each sc). 1 Pc, twist.
Row 2: Sc in each st across, using the back loops. 1 Pc, twist.
Rows 3-31: Repeat row 2.
As row 20 approaches, measure the work around the instep (area of the foot between the toes and the ankle). The number of turns should comfortably fit the circumference of this section.
After the last round, cast off, leaving a 10″ tail to sew. Use it to sew the back of the heel of the shoe. Close and knit the ends.
Thread a new 16″ strand of thread and use it to cinch the toe section. Tie and knot well. Use the remaining thread to sew the instep section. Close and knit the ends.
Sew or tie a pom pom to decorate (if desired). Apply large dots of paint to the bottom of the shoe for added grip.
