Instructions

The first and last hdc of each row are worked through both loops to create an even edge.

When chaining to create a new row, the first hdc is placed in the stitch below the sc, the final hdc of each row is placed in both loops on top of the 2nd sc of the row below.

The pattern is written for a size 2-3T and the instructions for size 5-6T are shown in parentheses.

Poncho

Row 1: Using CP, fhdc 58 (74) (alternatively, sc 60 (76), hdc in 2nd sc from hook to end), turn.

Row 2: Pc 2, hdc in both loops of stitch below pc, bl hdc to last stitch, hdc through both loops, turn. (58 (74) points).

Row 3: Sc 2, hdc in both loops of stitch under sc and through, turn.

Row 4: Repeat row 2.

Row 5: Dc 2, hdc under dc, *(3 hdc, fl drop dc); repeat from * to end of row, turn.

Row 6: Repeat row 2.

Row 7: Dc 2, hdc under dc, fl drop dc, * (3 hdc, fl drop dc); repeat from * to end of row, last group has 3 hdc followed by a hdc on top of 2nd pc, turn.
