Scarecrow Amigurumi Doll FREE PATTERN

We start with the legs and join them together, which then forms the body and head. Everything is one piece. Next the face, the arms, the overalls, the hay and a friendly crow friend.

Feet (beam 2)

Use the brown thread.

To start the scarecrow we first create its feet. The foot empties into the leg. We make one more foot that leads to the leg and we join both legs together. This is how we form the lower part of the hips, then the body and the head. From the legs to the head they are one continuous piece.

Make one leg first, then create the second leg.

Finish the first leg here and do not remove the stitch marker from this first leg.

If you are doing the second leg, continue on the next page for round 28, second leg.

Connect the legs

In the next round we are going to join the legs. Once joined, start working on the body. Note: to add a stitch marker to the first stitch made in this “Round 28, second leg”.

Round 28, second leg: SC in the next 3 stitches (photo 1). Take the first leg made and count 6 stitches before the marked point (photo 2). Align that 6th point with the next point on the second leg. Insert the hook under both stitches and sc in that stitch (photo 3-9).

Continuing under both stitches, sc in the next 3 stitches (photo 10). Returning to the second leg (photo 11), sc in the next 18 stitches (photo 12). Now you can remove the old stitch marker from the first leg. (Number of stitches: 4 stitches to join the legs, 21 stitches on each leg). Fill each leg here.

Tonight

Now we will add hay straws to the yellow parts of the scarecrow. In the loops where we made a single yellow loop is where we will add the hay. Note that we will also add hay under the hat where we did not make a yellow loop.

Cut many 5″/13 cm yellow strands (photo 1). Insert the hook into a yellow loop of the legs (photo 2), arms or neck (examples of how on the next page). Pull a strand of yellow thread through (photo 3-5).

Repeat the operation with the two strands of yellow thread (photo 6) and pull the thread (photo 7). Pull both ends of the thread at the same time to tighten it (photos 8-9). Cut the strands as you wish (photo 10).

Scarecrow
Where to insert the hay hook

In the loops where we have made a single loop in yellow, insert the hook into that loop to make the hay.

This is what the arm should look like when you insert the hook into the yellow loop. To add the hay simply follow the process on the previous page. Note, I barely trimmed the hay on the arms but you can trim the hay quite a bit if you prefer.

This is what it should look like when you insert the hook into the yellow collar loop. I trimmed the hay from the neck.
