Crochet the Head, the Upper Body and the First Leg
The first part that is knitted in one piece is made up of the head, the upper part of the body and the first leg. Everything is knitted in spiral turns with single crochets in the color Light Apricot .
Some of the rows are worked using only the front loop and others the back loop of the stitch. The back strand is the strand that is furthest away from you, while the front strand is the closest.
With the exception of the head, I recommend that you fill all the body parts with polyester padding only after you are done with all the limbs.
Use the boxes to mark the turns, rows and steps that you have finished.
- Crochet the head in a spiral with Light Apricot yarn .
- Round 1: 6 sc inside the magic ring (6 stitches).
- Round 2: [1 inc] x 6 (12 stitches).
- Round 3: [1 sc, 1 inc] x 6 (18 stitches).
- Round 4: 1 sc, 1 inc, [2 sc, 1 inc] x 5, 1 sc (24 stitches).
- Round 5: [3 sc, 1 inc] x 6 (30 stitches).
- Round 6-11: 6 rounds, each round 30 sc (30 stitches).
- Round 12: [3 sc, 1 dec] x 6 (24 stitches).
- Round 13: 1 sc, 1 dis, [2 sc, 1 dis] x 5, 1 sc (18 stitches).
- Round 14: [1 sc, 1 dec] x 6 (12 stitches).
- Row 15: Work the entire row with only the front loop. [1 sc, 1 inc] x 6 (18 stitches).
- Round 16: Stuff the head. 1 sc, 1 inc, [2 sc, 1 inc] x 5, 1 sc (24 stitches).
- Round 17: [3 sc, 1 inc] x 6 (30 stitches).
- Round 18: 2 sc, 1 inc, [4 sc, 1 inc] x 5, 2 sc (36 stitches).
- Round 19: [5 sc, 1 inc] x 6 (42 stitches).
- Round 20: As a result you should get a circle on the head made up of 42 stitches. These 42 points will be separated into three parts: two small parts with 9 points each, which will be the arms later on, and a large part with 24 points, which will form the rest of the upper body.
- Do the following to separate the different parts: First you must separate the first arm. One arm needs 9 stitches. To separate those 9 stitches, skip the next 9 circle stitches and pass your crochet hook through the 10th circle stitch.
- Pull the yarn tight so that the 9 stitches you skipped form their own circle. Later, this will become one of the doll’s arms.
- Now knit 1 sc. With this you have already separated the area of the first arm.
- Now, make 11 sc along the body. Next, the second arm formed by 9 points is separated in the same way. Do the same as with the first arm. Skip 9 stitches and pass the needle through the 10th stitch. Tighten the thread again to separate the 9 stitches clearly and make 1 sc.
- Knit another 11 sc. You have knitted a total of 24 stitches and you have separated the arms from the body (24 stitches).
- Round 21-24: 4 rounds, each round 24 sc (24 stitches).
- Row 25: Now start knitting the first leg. Knit 7 sc.
