Instructions for the Tulip Amigurumi in Crochet
tulip head
- R1: 8 Pb in sc (8).
- R2: BLO [Aum] x8 (16).
- R3: [Pb, aum] x8 (24).
- R4: Pb, aum, [2 pb, aum] x7, pb (32).
- R5-13: [Pb] x32 (32).
- Insert the safety eyes between R8 and R9, with 6 points of separation.
- R14: BLO pb, dism, [2 pb, dism] x7, pb (24).
- Start filling in and keep filling in as you go.
- R15: [Pb, invdism] x8 (16).
- R16: [Invdism] x8 (8).
- Fasten and knit the end.
Stem (Green): Attach the green yarn to the first leftover front loop of R2.
- R1: 1 ch, sc in the same st and in each st around (8).
- R2-10: [Pb] x8 (8).
- Add small amounts of filler to the stem as you go.
- Close and knit the end.
- Note: If you are making the pencil cap version, do not fill in. Stop after R8, close invisibly, and weave in the end.
Tulip Petals: Join the yarn to the first leftover front loop of R14 of the flower head.
- 1 PC, hdc in the same st. tr in the next st, tr 3 in the next, tr in the next, hdc in the next, skip 1, tr. [Skip 1, hdc in the next st, dc in the next, tr 3 in the next, dc in the next, hdc in the next, skip 1, pr] x3 (4 petals).
- You will have a front loop left without working. Close invisibly on the first mpa.
- 10 ch, dc in the 3rd ch from the hook and in the next 4 ch, hdc in the next, sc in the next, sc, picot, sc in the last ch. Working from the other side of the ch – dc in the next ch, hdc in the next, dc in the next 4, 2 dc in the last ch.
- Close invisibly at the top of the pc leaving a long tail to sew.
- Place the leaf on the stem side. Make sure the bottom is even with the bottom of the stem. Sew around the bottom and about halfway down both sides of the sheet, leaving the top free. Knit the end.
- With a single strand of embroidery floss, sew a small mouth between the eyes.
