This little basket of love will help you organize small objects from your daily life or materials necessary for future knitting projects. Very simple to make, it is a piece that you can have ready in no time
Materials
❇️ Oatmeal (A) – 1 ball.
❇️ Pretty’n Pink (B) – 1 ball.
❇️ Minty (C) – 1 ball.
❇️ US size 7 [4.5mm] hook.
❇️ Thread needle.
Measures
❇️ 5″ x 5″ x 5″ [12.5 x 12.5 x 12.5 cm] cube.
Caliber
❇️ 14 double crochets and 8 rows = 4″ [10 cm].
❇️ Motif = approximately 5″ [12.5 cm] square.
Instructions
Chain 3 at the beginning of the round counts as a double crochet.
Chain 6 at the beginning of the round counts as double crochet and chain 3 space.
To change colors, work the last 2 loops on the hook of the first color, yarn over with the new color and continue. Create 3 plain motifs and 2 heart motifs following the corresponding dot diagram.
Assembly
Place 2 plain motifs with wrong sides together. With A make a slip stitch across the edge of both motifs to join.
Repeat with the 3rd plain motif to create a strip (assembly diagram follows). Button up. Weave the ends.
Place the heart motifs wrong sides together on top of the central plain motif. With A make a slip stitch across the edge of both squares to join.
Repeat for the 2nd Heart Motif on the opposite side. (Note the direction of the motifs in the diagram.) Button up. Weave the ends.
Fold up the 4 outer motifs and make a slip stitch along the sides to form the basket. Fasten and weave the ends.
Use the long ends of the yarn on the handles, make a slip stitch on the top edge of the 2 plain motifs, start at the first double crochet after chain space 3. Fasten and knit the ends.
