Instructions

Starting with the color of the leaf.

Magic ring, pc 1 and make 8 sc in the ring, join, pc 1.

Round 2: 2 sc in the first 3 stitches, hdc + dc in the next, dc + hdc in the next, 2 sc in the remaining 3 stitches, join, pc 1.

Round 3: sc in the first 7 stitches, hdc + dc in the next, dc + hdc in the next, sc in the remaining 7 stitches, join, pc 1.

Round 4: 2 sc in the first, sc in the next 7, 2 sc in the next, 3 sc in the next, 2 sc in the next, sc in the next 6, 2 sc in the last, join but do not fasten.

With the thread of cream color.

Row 5: Join the white yarn in the third stitch. ch 3 + dc + ch 2 + 2 dc all in one stitch (this will be your first corner), hdc in the next, sc in the next 4, hdc in the next, corner (2 dc + ch 2 + dc), sc in the next 4 (skip the center stitch which is the stitch on the leaf), corner, hdc in the next, sc in the next 4, hdc in the next, corner, sc in the last 3, join, pc 2.

At this point you can make whatever border you want. For the piece shown, the yellow/orange thread was used and a sc was made around each stitch and 2 sc + 2 sc + 2 sc in each corner.

It is important to leave the sash thread attached and the loop sticking out from the top of the project.

Reinsert the hook at the top of the leaf loop and make a shallow pr up to make the stem and down the center of the leaf.
