The piece is turned with 3 ch stitches, which replace 1 tr.

Every other row you work in the back loops of the stitches, i.e. rows 2, 4, 6, etc.

Bib

Round 1: Make an am. 3 pc and 8 dc in the ring. (9)

Round 2: This row is worked in the bl. Pc 3 and rotate the work. 1 tr in the same stitch, 2 tr in each stitch until the end of the row. (18)

Round 3: Pc 3 and turn the work. 1 tr in the same stitch, 1 tr in the next stitch. *2 tr in the next stitch, 1 tr in the next stitch *. Repeat between ** to the end of the row. (27)

Round 4: This row is worked in the bl. PC 3 and rotate the work. 1 tr in the same stitch. 1 tr in each of the next 2 stitches, *2 tr in the same stitch, tr in the next 2 stitches *. Repeat between ** to the end of the row. (36)

Round 5: Pc 3 and turn the work. 1 tr in the same stitch. 1 tr in each of the next 3 stitches, *2 tr in the next stitch, tr in the next 3 stitches*. Repeat between the **’s until the end of the row. (Four. Five)

Round 6: This row is worked in the bl. PC 3 and rotate the work. 1 tr in the same stitch. 1 tr in each of the next 4 stitches, *2 tr in the next stitch, tr in the next 4 stitches*. Repeat between ** to the end of the row. (54)

Round 7: Pc 3 and turn the work. 1 tr in the same stitch. 1 tr in each of the next 5 stitches, *2 tr in the next stitch, tr in the next 5 stitches *. Repeat between ** to the end of the row. (63)

Round 8: This row is worked in the bl. PC 3 and rotate the work. 1 tr in the same stitch. 1 tr in each of the next 6 stitches, *2 tr in the next stitch, tr in the next 6 stitches*. Repeat between ** to the end of the row. (72)

Round 9: Pc 3 and turn the work. 1 tr in the same stitch. 1 tr in each of the next 7 stitches, *2 tr in the next stitch, tr in the next 7 stitches *. Repeat between ** to the end of the row. (81)

Round 10: Turn the work and make 35 pc. Work 1 tr in the 4th stitch from the hook, tr in the next stitch. * Pc 1, skip 1 stitch and dc in the next 3 stitches *. Repeat between ** 5 times in total. ch 1, skip 1 stitch and dc in the last ch stitches.

Working in the bl, * 2 dc in the next stitch, dc in the next 8 stitches *. Repeat between ** to the end of the row.

Lap 11: Don’t turn. Pc 1, sc around top edge of bib and buttonhole “trim” (along neckline).

When you have worked around the “trim”, you can continue sc around the edge, ending with a st in the first sc.

Or make a picot edge along the bottom edge of the bib like this: *Pc 2, sr in 2nd stitch from hook, skip 1 stitch, sc in next stitch *. Repeat between ** around the edge and finish with a st in the first sc from the top edge.

Sew the button to the corner opposite the buttonhole “cutout” on your bib.
