Instructions

The hood is worked in joined rows with the correct side, always facing.

If you find it difficult to join the initial ch into a ring without twisting the ch, round 1 can be worked as a row, and then joined into a round, as follows: Leaving a long tail initially, ch 121, sc in the second pc from hook and into each pc across; join with a sl st in the first sc – you will have 120 sc at the end of this row/round. Use the initial tail to sew the hole at the bottom of the first closed row. Proceed to round 2.

You can follow the dot plot for ease.

Hood

pc 120; being careful not to twist the ch, join with a sl st in the first ch to form a ring.

Round 1 (cast on – right side): ch 1, sc in the same ch as the join and in every ch around; join with a sl st in the first sc – you will have 120 sc in this row.

Round 2 (bubble turn): Ch 2 (does not count as a stitch), bubble stitch in the same stitch as join, *mpa in the next stitch, bubble stitch in the next stitch; repeat from * to the last stitch, hdc in the last stitch; join with a pr on top of the initial 2 pc – 60 bubbles and 60 hdc.

Round 3: Pc 1, sc in each hdc and bubble stitch around; join with a pr in the first sc – 120 sc.

Round 4 (bubble round): Ch 2 (does not count as a stitch), hdc in the same stitch as the join, *bubble stitch in the next stitch, hdc in the next stitch; repeat from * to the last stitch, bubble stitch in the last stitch; join with a pr at the top of the initial ch 2 – 60 bubble stitches and 60 hdc.

Round 5: Pc 1, sc in each hdc and bubble stitch around; join with a pr in the first sc – 120 sc.

Repeat rounds 2-5 until you have used most of the yarn, ending with a round 3 or 5 as the last round of your work.
