    US J/10 size hook (6mm).

    Long sewing needle.

    Sewing thread.

    2 large buttons.

    91.5 cm square pillow shape.

    Measures

    The cushion measures approximately 91.5 cm. squares.

    Caliber

    10 sc and 10 rows = 4″ (10 cm).

    Instructions

    Front and back (knit them the same)

    Note: After the 1st round, join all the rounds with a sl st in the 3rd pc of the initial pc. Pc 4. Join with a sl st to the 1st pc to form a ring.

    1st round: Pc 3 (counts as dc). 15 dc in the ring. Join. 16 pa.

    2nd round: Sc 5 (counts as 1 dc and sc 2 throughout). 2 dc in the same space as the last st. 1 dc in each of the next 3 dc. *(2 dc. Pc 2. 2 dc) in next dc. 1 dc in each of the next 3 dc. Repeat from * around. 1 dc in 1st sc space 2. Join.

    3rd round: Pr in the 1st space of sc 2. Pc 5. 2 dc in the same space as the last st. 1 dc in each dc to next 2 pc space. 1 dc in 1st sc space 2. Join.

    Repeat the 3rd round, increasing 16 stitches per round, until the work measures approximately 36″ [91.5 cm]. Button up.

    Joining: With wrong sides together, join the yarn with a sl st in any corner of the 2 sc space, join the edges with 1 round of sc, insert the cushion shape before joining the last edge. Join with a pr to the 1st sc.

    Next round: Sc 1. Work from left to right instead of right to left as usual, 1 reverse sc in each sc around. Join with a pr to the 1st sc.

    Buttons: Measure and mark the center of the cushion. Thread a long, sharp sewing needle through the center of the piece. Gird tightly. Sew a button to the top and bottom of the piece in the center.
