Body (with cozy thread)

Works 29 pc. Tour.

Row 1: Work 1 hdc in the 3rd pc from the hook, 1 hdc in each pc. Tour. (27)

Row 2: Work 2 dc, 1 hdc in the next 27 stitches, turn.

Row 3-31: Repeat row 2.

Button up.

Fold the rectangle in half. Close the sides of the bag with the tapestry needle and a strand of cozy thread. Button up.

Flap (with velvet thread)

Works 27 pc. Tour.

Row 1: Work 1 hdc in the 3rd pc from the hook, 1 hdc in each pc. Tour. (25)

Row 2: Work 2 dc, 1 hdc in the next 25 stitches. Tour.

Row 3-12: Repeat row 2.

Row 13: Work 2 sc, 1 hdc in the next 12 stitches, 1 sc, skip 1, 1 hdc in the next 12 stitches. Tour. (24 mpa and 1 pc)

Row 14: Work 2 sc, 1 hdc in each stitch (also in buttonhole 1 sc of the previous row). (25)

Knit a sc border around the flap. Button up.

Sew the flap to the body of the bag, approximately 5cm / 2″ below the top edge of the body. Turn the bag over and sew the button onto the body. Make sure the center of the button is about 7 cm / 2.8″ below the top edge.

Strap (with cozy thread) – optional

Row 1: Work 6 sc, 1 hdc in the 3rd sc from the hook, 1 hdc in each sc. Tour. (4)

Row 2: Work 2 sc, 1 hdc in each stitch. Tour.

Repeat row 2 until the strap is the desired length. Sew the strap to the top sides of the body. Button up.

Weave all the ends and that’s it. Enjoy your new bag.
