Note: To change colors, work to the last loops on the hook. Release the color from the hook, trace the new color through the last loops and continue.

Striped pattern: With B, 2 rows. With A, 2 rows. These 4 rows form the stripe pattern.

With A, pc 102 (multiple of 28 pc + 18).

1st row (right side): 1 dc in 4th sc from hook. 1 dc in each of the next 14 st. *1 sc in each of the next 12 sc. 1 dc in each of the next 16 st. Repeat from * to the end of the pc. Join B. Turn. 100 points.

2nd row: With B, dc 3. 1 dc in each of the next 15 dc. *Pc 12. Skip the next 12 points. 1 dc in each of the next 16 dc. Repeat from * to the end of the row. Tour.

3rd row: Stc 3. 1 dc in each of the next 15 dc. *1 sc in each of the next 12 sc. 1 dc in each of the next 16 dc. Repeat from * to the end of the row. Join A. Turn.

The first 2 rows of the stripe pattern are complete.

Following the continuity of the stripe pattern, repeat the 2nd and 3rd rows until the work from the beginning measures 40″ [101.5 cm], ending in a row on the right side with A. Fasten.

Chain link: With the right side facing forward, twist the 1st horizontal bar in the base row to form a loop. Trace the 2nd horizontal bar across the 1st bar without twisting it. Repeat, tracing the next bar through the previous bar without twisting until you have worked all the bars. Sew the last loop to the second to last loop to secure it.

Should

1st round: With the correct side facing, join B with a sl st to any corner. PC 2 (counts as hdc). Work 1 round of hdc evenly around the side edges of the blanket, taking 3 hdc in each corner. Join A with a pr to the top of pc 2.

2nd round: With A, pc 3 (counts as dc). Work 1 dc in each hdc around, working 3 dc in each center hdc in the corners. Join with a pr to the top of pc 3. Fasten.
