Note: The straps are sewn and cannot be adjusted, so it is recommended to knit exactly to the desired length. 1 ch counts as 1 sc. Using stitch markers, space 6 center sts at the top back. Work 6 sc around those center sts from the last round of the bag, ch 1 and turn. Start working the first strap in the back loop of those 6 sts, 5 sc, ch 1 and turn.
Repeat: 5 sc, ch 1 and turn each round until you reach the length of the desired strap (the model has 50 rounds). Sew the folded strap to the bottom corner of the backpack. Start working the second strap in the front loop of the 6 sts, 5 sc, ch 1 and turn.
