Body: Blue thread
Round 1: Start with 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Round 2: Inc 6 times (12)
Round 3: (Sc, inc in next st) repeat 6 times (18)
Round 4: (Sc in the next 2 sts, inc in the next st) repeat 6 times (24)
Mark the beginning of round 7 with a piece of yarn if you haven’t already, so you can count the stitches later.
Rows 5-10: Sc throughout 24 sts (24) Sew the eyes between rows 7 and 8, over the 4th and 19th st.
If you want, you can turn the whale into a keychain by sewing two strands of folded thread at the top between rows 8 and 9, between stitches 11 and 12 and pin it to the inside of the body.
Round 11: Sc in the next 6 sts, dec 6 times, sc in the next 6 sts (18)
Row 12: Sc in the next 5 sts, dec 2 times, sc in the next st, dec 2 times, sc in the next 4 sts (14)
Row 13: Sc in the next 5 sts, dec, sc in the next st, dec, sc in the next 4 sts (12)
Row 14: Sc in the next 4 sts, dec 3 times, sc in the next 2 sts (9) Fill the body with toy fiber filling and continue filling as you go.
Round 15: Sc throughout 9 sts (9)
Row 16: Dec, sc in the next 7 sts (8) Cast off leaving a long tail to sew.

Sew the fins on the side body between rows 9 and 12 (under the eyes)

Round 3: Sc throughout 6 sts (6) Finish off with a sl st, leaving a long tail to sew. Sew the tail on round 16 of the body.

Round 2: Inc 6 times (12)
Round 3: (Sc, inc in next st) repeat 6 times (18)
Round 4: Sc in next st, hdc in next st, hdc + dc + hdc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st (7), do not crochet in the remaining sts. Finish off with a sl st, leaving a long tail to sew.
