Start by chaining multiples of two.
Row 1: Chain 3, insert the hook in the 5th chain from the hook and work *2 double crochets, 1 chain, 2 double crochets* all in one stitch, then skip 3. Repeat [*2 double crochet, 1 chain, 2 double crochet* in one stitch, skip 3] until you reach the last two stitches of the row. Work 1 double crochet in the last stitch.
Row 2: Chain 3 [*2 double crochets, 1 chain, 2 double crochets* all in one chain space (between the pairs of double crochets)] repeat until the end of the row, finish with 1 double crochet at the top of the turning chain.
Repeat row 2.
