Union

Arrange the squares in a joining order, making sure they are all facing the same direction.

With the correct sides of the motifs joined, join 2 squares at a time using the FLO of the closest square and the BLO of the farthest square, until all squares have been joined.

Turn the bag so the correct side of the squares are facing out and the seams are facing in.

Handles (repeat on both sides of the bag)

Row 1: Stc 10, sc in first unworked sc space of top right square, sc along side of square until reaching sc space 3, sc 50 (handle), sc in sc 3 space of top left square, sc along side of square until reaching sc 3 space, sc 10 – 112 stitches; 70 sc + 42 sc.

Row 2: Pc 1 (not a stitch), turn, work 1 sc in each stitch across – 112 sc.

Row 3: Pc 1 (not a stitch), turn, sl st in each st across, fasten – 112 sts.

Fringe bunch = 5 strands of thread, 12″ each.

Pass half of the fringe bunch down the side of row 2 from the handle, fold in half evenly (repeat for all 4).

Hold 2 adjacent bundles and knot them together, covering the ends of the handle rows (repeat for both sides).

Finish

Sew all the ends, trim the excess.
